150th Anniversary Event

What is significant about the year 1868?  Andrew Johnson was the president of the United States, and our nation was going through Reconstruction after the Civil War.  More importantly to us, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church was founded on November 5, which means this year is the 150th anniversary of our ministry!

This is significant not only for us, but also for the community because Holy Trinity was the first church to be established within the Borough of Ephrata.

Our Anniversary Committee consists of Lois Beck, Deb Martin, Phyllis Peters, Barry Kreider, Norm Wangman, and church staff.  We have been busy planning a celebration!

Please mark your calendars for Sunday, November 4 – All Saints Day.  We will have one service that day followed by a banquet to celebrate the milestone.  Former pastors will be invited to participate in the liturgy and join us in fellowship.  More details on this will be forthcoming.

Another project we are working on is updating an addendum to the Church History book which was written by Milt Jacoby for the 125th Anniversary.  The committee is compiling highlights of the last 25 years.

Our committee is working on a limited budget, and we would like to make our activities accessible for everyone to participate.  We are asking for contributions to generate a Patron list for the anniversary.  Anyone who contributes will be recognized in a list published in the history booklet and in the program for the banquet.  Forms to contribute will be available in the Assembly Area of the church as well as in monthly newsletters.  Please consider becoming a patron to support the anniversary celebration.

Our committee welcomes your input.  If you have any ideas of something special to honor this milestone, please talk with any member of the committee.
